Cape Town Invests in an Additional Warehouse Facility
The SACD are tremendously energised to announce the addition of a new warehouse to their resources. The continuing increase in demand for export services has lead to the Cape Town facility expanding their reach, almost doubling their total floor space in the process.
The Paarden Eiland warehouse is situated less than a kilometre away from the existing facilities (and under two kilometres from the Port of Cape Town's deep sea harbour freight terminal) and has brought an extra 6500m² to the total working area. Its main function is to assist in the transportation of wine and canned fruit from the Western Cape to the rest of the world.
The warehouse, which is of food grade quality, is fully equipped with all the tools it needs to meet the demand. New additions to the infrastructure include three forklifts (4 000kg), two trucks to run between SACD and the port stacks and a high-tech security system with CCTV camera monitoring.
Affectionately known as "Nereide Street", the warehouse facility will bring an undeniable boost to the SACD’s workflow, and work load.
